Here's whats blooming right now

A couple of weeks ago I went for a hike on a really pretty sunny morning.  I am always amazed at the changes in the types of wildflowers in the open fields I pass and along the creek.  Each month brings a new crop of wildflowers.  Here's what I found.
Hoary Mountain Mint Flower with a Scollid Wasp-pretty iridescent blue wings!

Monarda also known as HorseMint or BeeBalm-love the tiered layers on this plant

Cephalanthus Occidentalis or Button Bush-This generally grows around or even in water

Ipomoea Carnea-Morning Glory-found this in the sand by the creek

Flat Top Aster-these are everywhere right now

Vernonia Altisssima-Ironweed with Silver Spotted Skipper Butterfly

More Ironweed-love the vibrant purple color
